The Alfred Foundry Guild is a Student Club, it was Founded in 2009 after participating in the National Conference on Cast Iron Art at the Historic Sloss Furnaces in Alabama. Since then they have organized and participated in many events including The International Conference on Cast Iron Art in Wales, UK.
The process of casting metal brings us individual artists together to form what is known as The Foundry Guild. The Guild exists not only to bring fellow metal casters together, but also to raise money for local and international charities. As a member of the Alfred Foundry Guild one is given the opportunity to experience the world of metal casting on collegiate and professional levels. This experience is achieved by attending various trips to events including national and international iron pours as well as museums and sculpture parks. Beyond creating a collaboration of artists, The Foundry Guild establishes a strong community of students who can achieve more together than they ever could apart.
